Welcome to Hope Leadership Academy (HLA)

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Hope Leadership Academy!

I hope all of you are having an enjoyable summer and our students will return highly motivated, energized and ready to learn!

I am incredibly proud of our Board, staff, students and
families. There was a significant amount of change that
occurred last year and our staff, partners and families stayed committed to the vision of Hope Leadership Academy.

We have so many great initiatives that will be implemented this school year, including but not limited to:

The addition of grade 5
New research based, inclusive and academically rigorous curriculum – McGraw Hill
New SIS (School Information System) – PowerSchool
New Personalized Diagnostic Reading and Math Assessments (i-Ready)

Additionally, we will work with city, state, county, private and community partners to ensure that we have the adequate funding needed to provide a quality education for all of our students with the appropriate resources they need and deserve.

I would like to thank the Board of Directors, HLA Staff and Families, Community Partners and all stakeholders for entrusting me with the leadership duties at Hope Leadership Academy.

As the Executive Director/Principal, it is my duty to make sure we have the resources and support to
effectively serve our students and families.

I will continue to work tirelessly as a servant leader to ensure Hope Leadership Academy is a premier
neighborhood school on the East Side of Kansas City!
